Yes. Standard practice is to tear off in sections small enough to dry in and cover the same day rather than leaving the deck open. Shingles also need warmth for the sealant strip to bond, so in cold weather tabs are hand-sealed with asphalt cement instead of waiting on spring sun, which protects against blow-off and keeps the material warranty intact.
